Amman, July 28 (Petra) – Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, discussed ties and cooperation.
In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Safadi and Attaf discussed the situation in the occupied West Bank resulting from illegal Israeli measures, including escalating settler violence, settlement expansion and repeated violations targeting the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The two ministers condemned the illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank and Israel's systematic attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. They warned of the catastrophic consequences of these actions.
Safadi and Attaf reviewed ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, reaffirming their support for these initiatives.
They called for building on de-escalation efforts through an agreement that secures a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, ensures freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and contributes to achieving lasting security and stability.
